Coasteering and Climbing

With Pembrokeshire quieter now summer has passed, we have the cliffs and sea almost to ourselves, so we had a lovely week Climbing and Coasteering. We started the week with a small group of managers from Mears New Homes. They had been brought to us by Andy, of Fresh Tracks Consulting. Their ongoing development was the focus of the day, and Coasteering was the challenge. Big swell and low tide at St Nons, the group pushed their comfort limits, and we linked in several tasks and challenges to get the learning outcomes we were looking for. It was a top day, cheers guys! We wish you luck with your future training with Andy and that the business goes from strength to strength…

After the guys from Mears New Homes left, I spent the next day climbing in the sun with Andy. Having climbed together several times we decided to head to Penally, an area Andy had not been to before, as it would give us the best weather, quick acess and plenty of awesome routes! It didn’t disappoint, and was one of those days when everything was just perfect! So lucky to live and work in Pembrokeshire! Thus ended 2 days climbing and coasteering with Mears New Homes and Fresh Tracks Consulting…

After a quick sandwich it was off for an evening climbing with Joey out at St Davids Head, the weather was set, too warm if anything, and a top sunset followed by a morning swim out on the headland.. It felt like one of the last summer nights with Autumn rapidly approaching, so its really important to get out there and squeeze every last bit out of the day at the minute!

The next day I had the company of Joel and Paola, who were with me for an introduction to climbing outside. We spent some time looking at movement skills and transferring indoor skills to the real rock, before climbing loads of routes at Porth Clais. The tides and weather perfect, the place to ourselves… What more could we want!

To wrap up the week of climbing and coasteering in Pembrokeshire, we sort of combined the two activities… The tides were super high, the sea at its warmest – so we went deep water soloing at Lydstep… A top place, great routes (some pretty high!) and we had the place to ourselves – luxury!
