Our Scottish Winter Mountaineering Skills Course will take your Winter Walking to the next level! As well as recapping the basic winter skills we’ll introduce rope work skills. If you’ve mastered these and are keen then we’ll get onto steeper ground and do some classic routes! How independent you feel at the end of the course depends on what your skills are prior to the course and how long you spend with us, so you may want to consider a summer rock climbing or scrambling course beforehand.
Typical routes we may do include Curved Ridge, The Aonach Eagach, Ledge Route, Dorsal Arete – those routes and many more will be our intended learning grounds!
Scottish Winter Mountaineering Course
Perhaps you’ve got bigger objectives in mind and want to practise fixed line work or want some Alpine prep such as crevasse rescue, we can look at a massive range of skills throughout your time with us.
We base these courses on the West Coast so we’ll have Glencoe and Ben Nevis on the doorstep – we have a lifetimes worth of adventures to choose from here in a location where we can make the best of the snow and weather conditions, and great low level teaching venues as well as the impressive big routes!
